Thick, Thick

I gun hunted 51 several times taken a couple nice bucks, but I hunted in the thickets on the south or southeast side. Bow hunting in my opinion I would hunt the northeast side where it opens up and area 52 (across the road to the east) becomes wooded after an open broomsage field which I would venture to say is burnt off now. It also has good hardwoods on the northwest side by the fence. Good luck hope it helps.

Love Area 51..... Love to hunt it for Turkey..... My buddy always hunted the southern edge going up the hill along the fence before you cross the bridge..... Always sees turkeys there..... I always hunted the bigger field along the fence just past the bridge......

So if you have a turkey tag you can take a turkey down there..... Season closes on Sunday and reopens December 5th. Bcrul is right..... The rest of the place is thick....

They need to do some logging and whole lot more burning.... But deer management wouldn't hurt either....
